June 25 - Lincoln NE

Long day driving today primarily because there wasn’t much to stop and see, plus very few and far-in-between campsites.  We’ve generally stopped every couple of hours to see something but not today.  We finally got to Lincoln NE and we are going to stay here a couple of days to get laundry done, bills paid, etc.

However, we did get to see the Cosmosphere and Space Center in Hutchinson KS and the best part today was the Dwight D Eisenhower Presidential Library in Abilene.  It would actually take days to read everything in the library.  The amount of information and detail on World War II was phenomenal and we enjoyed it immensely.  Can’t say I knew all that much about Eisenhower before – what a gentle but strong man.  Also, we learned a great deal about the war – before, during and after.
